Porto's Tiles: From renaissance to Street Art, the whole evolution

Porto, Portugal · 3 h · 2 à 12 personnes

Se déroule en Anglais Portugais

A 3-hour walk through Porto's history of tiles, from 16th-century Moorish designs to modern murals.

Porto is famous for its tiles, and this walk traces their whole story — from the Spanish and Moorish-influenced azulejos of the 16th century right up to today's street art murals. Along the way we'll look closely at technique and materials: the pigments used across different eras, the factories that produced them, and the artists behind the designs. You'll come away able to spot the artistic trends of each period and read the city's walls with a trained eye — recognising why a facade looks the way it does and what era it belongs to. It's a mix of art history, craft, and street-level observation, walking through Porto as you go.
