Explore Lausanne's old town, castle and cathedral, taste artisan chocolate, then ride the driverless metro to Ouchy.

Wander through Lausanne's cobbled upper town, past Château Saint-Maire and the towering Cathedral Notre-Dame, before descending the historic Escalier du Marché to the boutiques of Rue du Bourg. Along the way we'll take in the Florentine Renaissance splendor of the Palais de Rumine, home to several of the city's museums, and stop at panoramic viewpoints over the lake and Alps. A highlight of the tour is a visit to a beloved local chocolatier, where you'll enjoy several tastings of organic, handmade chocolate and hear the story behind Lausanne's chocolate-making tradition. From there we head to Esplanade de Montbenon for sweeping views before hopping on Lausanne's famous driverless metro (ticket included) down to the lakeside district. We finish in Ouchy, where you can stroll the waterfront promenade, admire Lake Geneva and the distant Alps, and easily return to the city center by metro. It's a relaxed, story-filled way to see Lausanne's history, architecture, and sweeter side in one outing.
