Skopje is a city where ancient history, Ottoman heritage and modern life sit side by side, and this walk shows you how they fit together. I'm a licensed local guide and a history student, and I love telling the stories behind the landmarks: the events, people and cultures that shaped Macedonia. We'll start in Macedonia Square, the heart of modern Skopje, then cross the Stone Bridge and wander the Old Bazaar, where centuries of Ottoman heritage live on in the traditional shops. We'll also visit Kale Fortress to understand its strategic importance, and the Church of the Holy Saviour to take in its architecture and cultural significance. This tour isn't only about monuments and dates. Along the way we'll talk about everyday life, local traditions, historical personalities, food and culture, and how Skopje has changed over the centuries. Archaeology and ancient history are my special interests, so I'm always happy to dig into interesting details and answer your questions.
