Basel: A Relaxed Walk through the Old Town This tour offers a relaxed exploration of Basel’s Old Town in the morning, when the city wakes up, the light is soft and the streets are still calm. We start at the Kunstmuseum and continue to the impressive Basel Minster, where the Pfalz terrace offers panoramic views over the Rhine and the Old Town skyline in the fresh morning light. From there, we stroll through the medieval streets to the Marktplatz, where the morning market is in full swing and the city’s long commercial and cultural history comes alive. Here we’ll taste products from local vendors, such as fresh fruit. Close by, we’ll pass the Rathaus, the town hall, a building with centuries of history that is easy to recognize by its distinctive red color. We then continue to one of the city’s most iconic streets, the Art Basel street, where you can admire the work of artists who have passed through Basel. We end the tour at the Fasnachtsbrunnen (Tinguely Fountain), an unmissable final stop.
