Join a passionate local guide, living there for 18 years for a 2 to 3 hours relaxed walk through Lausanne. From the lively St. François Square to the Gothic splendor of the Cathedral, the historic seats of power at St-Maire Castle and Parliament, and the buzzing central square (Place de la Palud), there is much to see and feel ! Along the way you'll wander medieval lanes, climb gently the hills and take in sweeping views over the city and the Léman (Lake Geneva) from amazing viewpoint. This is a small-group experience — usually just 3-4 people, never more than ten — so there's plenty of room for questions, stories, and detours into anecdotes you won't find in a guidebook. Expect a good mix of history, architecture, and everyday Lausanne life, plus tips on where to eat and what else to explore. The moderate effort route covers some cobbled streets, uphill and downhill sections, and stairs, so comfortable shoes are a must. The tour runs rain or shine. The well-behaved dogs are welcome to tag along (just note a few buildings won't let them inside).
