GuidesUnited was built by a tour guide of more than fifteen years, with a degree in the profession, who had sold through most of the major platforms and did not want to work that way any more. That is why the rules below are the way they are.

What you keep

One platform cost, published on the site and itemised on every booking. No commission tiers, no fee on services you did not provide. Stripe pays you directly, after the tour has happened rather than the moment a traveller books.

Visibility you cannot buy

Our ranking reads four things: your rating, how many reviews you have, how often you reply and how quickly. There is nowhere in it a commission figure could be entered, because we never built a way to sell placement.

What we are not going to pretend

We do not have the search traffic the large platforms have. We are new, and you should treat us as a second channel rather than a replacement for whatever already works for you.

What it takes to start

A tour you already run, a price, and a few photos. Writing the listing takes about five minutes, and a moderator reads it before it goes live. To be paid you also complete Stripe's identity check, the same one every platform runs.
